Jonathon has spent his last two summers working at the Washington Youth Garden. During this last school year, he chose to continue his time with us by coming every day after school to complete his school’s required community service hours. Jonathon’s connection with the Washington Youth Garden came by way of Kaiser Permanente’s Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) program. WYG partners with Kaiser as a placement for the youth participants in their HEAL initiative. Jonathon became connected with the HEAL program through the Port Town Youth Council, which does great work locally to educate and engage children in adopting healthier lifestyles.
Jonathon also writes on our blog. You can check out some of his writings and his vegetable of the month series there.
